Easter is Just Around the Corner
Lions Club hosts Easter Egg Hunt for local kids, raising funds for the organization.
Many kids in Port Washington were on the prowl for Easter eggs extra early this year. For the past five years, organizers and Lions Club of Port Washington members, John Mahoney and Sandi Nunziata, have set up an Easter Egg Hunt for local kids of all ages to come and enjoy.
"It takes me about 45 minutes to set up, and about five minutes for the kids to find everything," Mahoney said.
Not only is the annual Easter Egg Hunt a chance for kids to run around and celebrate the holiday, it helped raise money for the volunteer organization to sponsor four guide dogs for the blind — Freddy 1, Freddy 2, Nunzi, and Sarge.

All in all, Nunziata said the Easter Egg Hunt was a success, despite the Easter Bunny's absence.
"Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny was sick this year," Nunziata said, "but the kids still had a blast."
