Members of Port Washington's boys lacrosse team donate time and effort to annual Turkey Trot event.

In the early morning hours before the race on Thanksgiving Day, the volunteers unloaded and set-up all of the water bottles and apples that were donated by Fairway Markets.

The group's efforts ensured that items were ready when the first runners passed the finish line of the run which was sponsored by Community Chest of Port Washington.

Volunteers included Luke Cummings, Dan Grossman, Daniel Keren, Sam Littman, Jon Neil, Luke Rizzo and Juan Ziff.

The extra effort from the boys helped make for a successful according Julie Meer Harnick, executive director of Community Chest.

"The boys were a great help, we could not have done it without them,"said Harnick.
