Christmas Eve Services; Willie Wolf Trio

Willie Wolf Trio at the Dolphin Cafe: The Willie Wolf Trio, featuring Port Washington native Anne DeAcetis, returns to the Dolphin Cafe for a two-set engagement. The trio features the songs of guitarist Willie Wolf (mixed with standards and favorites), DeAcetis on vocals and Fred Ginsberg on trumpet. Styles span from swing to blues and retro R&B. The trio, and the larger Willie and the Wolves ensemble (guitar, upright bass, drums, vocals, trumpet, saxophone) performs regularly around NYC. Details

Christmas Eve Lutheran Communion/Children's Service: At the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 12 Franklin Ave., Port Washington. Beginning at 10:30 p.m., the congregation's choir, under the direction of Federico Teti, presents part one of Benjamin Britten's "Ceremony of Carols."  At 11 p.m., under the warm glow of candlelight, the Holy Eucharist for the Eve of the Nativity begins. You'll hear music by Bach and the Handel's "O Thou, that Tellest Glad Tidings to Zion," with Doris M. Whittemore as the contralto soloist. All are welcome. There will be a children's service at 5 p.m. at the church. Details
