Special Town Meeting: The Town of North Hempstead will discuss at a special meeting Tuesday regarding a proposal to place solar panels on two landfills located off West Shore Road in Port Washington. Residents are encouraged to participate in a public hearing scheduled for Jan. 14 at Town Hall. Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Event: The third annual fundraising event takes place Thursday at Schreiber High School at 6:15 p.m. during a game against the East Meadow Jets. This year, the event which raises money for the American Cancer Society will honor the late Stretch Ryder who died last year. More details coming later today on Patch regarding this event.
