New York Philharmonic at Tilles

The New York Philharmonic performs at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Brookville on Saturday, Jan. 4, with Alan Gilbert conducting and Yefim Bronfman on piano. The program features Rouse’s “Rapture,” Lindberg’s “Piano Concerto No. 2,” and Tchaikovsky’s “Symphony No. 5.” Tickets: $63-$123. Learn more. 

The annual Winter Choral Concert takes place at Hempstead House at Sands Point Preserve on Sunday, Jan. 5 at 2:30 p.m. Four Port Washington choirs will perform liturgical choral music – individually and together. Visit the Louis Armstrong House Museum. The museum is shown via guided 40-minute historic house tours that start every hour on the hour, with the last tour of the day taking place at 4 p.m.  Open: Tuesday – Friday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday – Sunday: 12 – 5 p.m.  Admission: $10, adults; $7, seniors, students and children; free, children under 4. See "Space, Choreographed: Noguchi and Ruth Page," an exhibition depicting the relationship between the sculptor Isamu Noguchi and avant-garde dancer and choreographer Ruth Page. The museum is located at 9-01 33rd Road (at Vernon Boulevard), Long Island City. Through Sunday, Jan. 26. Hours: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday: 11:00am-6:00pm.
