See pianist Michael Brown perform selections from Beethoven, Schubert, Copland and others. Brown performed at Alice Tully Hall as a soloist with the Juiliard Orchestra under New York Philharmonic Music Director Alan Gilbert and in a solo recital as winner of the 2012 Juilliard William Petschek Piano Debut Recital Award. He has appeared on four continents and at other major venues such as Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Sunday, 3 p.m. at the Port Washington Public Library.

Open mic night, hosted by I.A.M. (Immigrant Advancement Matters). This Flushing-based nonprofit supports the immigrant community through educational, legal and personal advancement programs that encourage integration into American society. I.A.M. will be partnering with Flushing Town Hall to host an Open Mic. $10/ $8 members and students. 137-35 Northern Blvd., Flushing, Friday, 7 p.m.

The Opera de Paris presents a new production of Giuseppe Verdi’s final opera,  "Falstaff,' a comedy about the penniless, portly old knight who gets tricked - repeatedly - by the young ladies who rebuff his romantic overtures. See it at the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington. $10 for members and $15 for the public. Tickets can be purchased online, at the box office during theater hours or by calling 1-800-838-3006.
