Hello,
I am glad that Patch is taking the time and dedicate attention to the issue of empty stores…Read More around town, few things need to be addressed, the first is maybe that landlords should be more aware of the economics around us and charge rents that make sense, work with tenants, make them stay, offer incentives such as free rent while building up, reasonable increases etc.
The other issue is the lengthy and stressful bureaucracy that reins at the TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD, a future business owner faces so many challenges that will discourage anyone into opening a new business I know this because I am going thru a lot trying to open my doors, I hope that when I establish myself on Main Street I will be able to do something and try to beautify it, I see Main Street in Great Neck being so beautiful, Huntington, Port Jefferson, while not Port Washington?
And last...I really feel that Port residents should shop/dine more locally and support business that support all of their causes, events and organizations, I can`t tell you how much my business has giving away (so far) in donations/gift certificates and food.
Thank you for reading.

We have been lucky since 9/11 that we haven't experienced more terroriist attacks. But now back to reality. There are fanatics who want to kill us. And they struck another warning bell today.
