Littig House Community Center Inc. is a nonprofit incorporated agency established in 1951 to enhance the quality of…More life for youth and their families in Port Washington.</p> <p>The target population includes those community members residing in the Town of North Hempstead, Port Washington community.</p> <p>The primary mission of Littig House Community Center is to ensure that school-aged youth achieve their full potential.</p> <p>Littig House believes by addressing the needs of youth and their families where they reside and provide supportive services in a non-competitive, non-threatening environment, each family will be given the opportunity to overcome social barriers.</p> <p>The programs are divided into three components:</p> <ul> <li>Family Life / Youth Development</li> <li>Education</li> <li>Constructive Leisure</li> </ul> <div><br /></div> <div>Institutional Goals</div> <ul> <li>To run an adequately funded service organization governed by its consumers, to address the diverse social and economical needs of the target population.</li> <li>To reduce the negative effects of social, economic and education disparities that impede social mobility and development.</li> <li>To address the education needs of youth in an effort to further their academic success.</li> </ul>
