Sullivan's Quay was the place to be in Port Washington on St. Patrick's Day.
As is every St. Patrick's Day, the streets and buildings around town were flooded with green and merry spirits. Sullivan's Quay hosted its annual week of St. Patrick's Day festivities leading up to the big day, and what a festive day it was. On St. Patrick's Day, Sullivan's Quay was packed with patrons wearing green who were given a real taste of what Ireland might be like on this holiday. And you better have made a reservation, or you would have been waiting quite some time for an open table. "I thought the entertainment was beautiful and wonderful," said Marilyn Butler Murphey who indulged in a delicious Irish meal with her mother Mary Bulter. Patrons enjoyed a special Irish menu that was served all day and were entertained by the …

Students from The Donny Golden School of Irish Dance performed at Sullivan's Quay three times this week.
Students from The Donny Golden School of Irish Dance performed group numbers and solos at Sullivan's Quay this week as part of the bar and restaurant's week-long St. Patrick's Day celebration. Twenty students entertained the crowd with Irish step dancing to festive music during dinner time on Sunday and Monday and also preformed on St. Patrick's Day at 2 p.m. The dancers performed selections of reels, jigs, slip jigs, set dances and ceili dances.

World-renowned Victor Cunneen helped kick off a week of St. Patrick's Day festivities at Sullivan's Quay.
Sullivan's Quay kicked off its St. Patrick's week celebration with a familiar face — world-renowned guitarist Victor Cunneen who performs at the Irish owned and operated bar and restaurant numerous times throughout the year. Cunneen performed Irish-themed music last Thursday and Friday evening in front of a packed house which included dinner guests and bar patrons. His Irish folk music filled the air with fantastic tunes that took many audience members on a musical trip to Ireland. Cunneen has been playing his guitar for 35 years across Europe and the United States and has been a regular performer at Sullivan's Quay for the past 10 years. His music helped to get the week of celebration, leading up to St. Patrick's Day 2010, off to a …

When St. Patrick's Day falls on a weekday, many high school students decide to celebrate it not once but twice.
Sadly, St. Patrick's Day did not fall on a weekend this year, so many high school students celebrated it this past weekend. We went to themed parties at night and had a fun and eventful night or two. Students like myself went to Party City and bought tons of St. Patrick's Day accessories. We wore Irish-themed necklaces, bracelets, tattoos, hats, belts and even suspenders — everything green you could imagine was present. And it seemed like every kid that took part in these themed evenings was wearing some sort of green top. My friends and I decided to match with a cropped green T-shirt that had a white clover on the front, with a black or white skirt and heels. We had stickers and tons of necklaces with clovers to go along with our outfits…

Sullivan's Quay hosts week-long St. Patrick's Day celebration.
Most of the Sullivan's Quay staff, including owner Brian Barry, are from Ireland. Although they are thousands of miles from home, Barry, who has recreated an upscale Irish pub on Port Washington Boulevard, wanted to make sure local residents get their "fill" for St. Patrick's Day. Instead of celebrating on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, Sullivan's Quay will be hosting a week-long St. Patrick's Day celebration, filled with live music, drink specials and authentic Irish entrees. World-renowned guitarist Victor Cunneen will be performing 7:30 p.m. on March 11 and March 12. Cuneen has performed for 35 years across Europe and the United States and has been a regular performer at Sullivan's Quay for the past 10 years. Cuneen will be playing the …
