If you're looking to redefine what your body looks like and have always admired the long, lean look of ballet dancers, Pilates may be for you. As professionally trained dancers, both Susan Brilliant and Tricia O'Donnell were quite aware of Pilates. Years after their dancing careers ended, the two decided to become instructors. Their apprenticeship and classical certification in Pilates entailed 600 hours of instruction from a master teacher who studied under Joseph Pilates, who originally designed Pilates as a strength and conditioning system for returning veterans after World War I. Evolution Pilates Relocates

The studio stretches out in a bigger, brighter space on Main Street.

Evolution Pilates has moved several storefronts on Main Street into the space formerly occupied by the gift-shop Details. Now at 184 Main Street, the spacious, bi-level studio offers both private and group classes seven days a week, by appointment. It's the third home for Evolution Pilates since first opening in 2003. "We grew out of the old space," said owner Mo Wolfe, "plus it was disjointed, it had no flow." Flow is crucial to Pilates, a method of exercise designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body.
