Port Washington Hotel A Step Closer to Opening

A 165-room Port Washington hotel is one step closer to opening.

Plans for the hotel, a $32 million Hilton Garden Inn slated for 3 Harbor Park Drive, was already approved by the Town of North Hempstead back in May.

The Nassau Industrial Development Agency board is meeting Tuesday at 5 p .m. in Mineola to consider an application for financial assistance for the proposed hotel.

The plans are for a four-story hotel on a three-acre parcel at the site of a former gym and health club in Harbor View Corporate Park, which is also home to NPD Group, Systemax and Pall Corporation, among others.

Paul Amoruso of Melville Hospitality, one of the developers of the hotel, developed and owns additional Long Island hotels – among them Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites in Plainview, Newsday reported.
