De Giorgio Congratulates Bosworth

North Hempstead councilwoman excited to move forward after election.

After coming up short in her bid for the North Hempstead supervisor seat, Town Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio had kind words for her opponent and optimism for the future.

"I congratulate Judi Bosworth on her victory and look forward to working with her and the entire Town Council on serving our wonderful community," said De Giorgio on Wednesday.

Receiving nearly 55 percent of the vote Tuesday, Bosworth received 23,746 votes to De Giorgio's 19,569.

Elected in November 2011 to a four-year town board term, De Giorgio will continue to serve the sixth council district in Port Washington.

"The great thing about our system is that, as competitive as an election may be — and this one was extremely competitive — all sides should be willing to put aside their differences, find common ground, and do the people's work," said De Giorgio. "I'm excited to move forward."
