Shuttered Bank Site Available For Sublet in Port Washington

Former People's United Bank branch location available.

Sabre Real Estate Group LLC, the metropolitan region’s newest retail broker, has been retained by Peoples United Bank to lease three shuttered Long Island branches.

Sabre is marketing branches in Deer Park, Port Washington and West Hempstead on behalf of the Bridgeport, Conn.-based bank.

The Port Washington branch at 61 Shore Rd. is available as a sublet. It offers 4,338 square feet in a shopping center anchored by Stop & Shop.

“These are highly visible sites on prime locations that rarely become available,” said Stu Fagen, managing director at Sabre, who is marketing the sites.

Peoples acquired the branches as part of it 2010 acquisition of Bank of Smithtown, which at the time had 30 branches. In 2012, the bank acquired 29 supermarket branches from Citizen’s Bank and converted them to its brand.
