It's our elected officials duty to make sure these services are up and running so that our communityRead More can grow.

The tracks in Connecticut are owned by CT DOT, maintained by MTA using mostly CT DOT funds, but alsoRead More some MTA funds. Given MNR lost almost half a billion dollars last year, and CT has a projected billion dollar budget deficit, there isn't a lot of money to spend on capital infrastructure improvements. The tunnel and tracks used by LIRR are owned by Amtrak, which operates at a loss and has just started lobbying Congress for $2 billion for capital infrastructure next year. Republicans have already said they're not going to get it. The 'bigger problem' is a lack of consistent political support for these rail operations, which lose money on an operating revenue basis. Infrastructure will continue to deteriorate, and maintenance cut back, and service will suffer.

Then you have dullards like "Dina" killing LIRR revitalization... Anyone still glad theyRead More elected her? Other than the connected, R's and "immediate family" that is?

Get some transparency. Publish the rents. If the stores are empty there are no rents and no taxesRead More collected and our property values drop. This town needs some new blood - no more Japanese or pizza restaurants. Make it worthwhile for investors and entrepreneurs to open retail and restaurants. How about a Houston's or equivalent on northern blvd. vintage grapes, the PW diner, Alpers HW (not paint), Aki are some of the local businesses I like patronizing because they are ethical, quality-minded and price competitive. Shields price gouges, the eyeglass store on main cannot get pricing right, amigos/Finn Mac/Sullivan's/most others on main st are just plain inedible. I have no idea how all the other stores even stay in business.

Food quality is generally so mediocre at most Port restaurants that our food-loving family prefersRead More to eat at home. We are so close to the City, and yet so far in terms of quality, variety. Sigh. We would be happy to eat out a few times a week if the right place was out there.

Before we signed a lease at 2 Haven Avenue, we were very concerned about the direction the town'sRead More economy was going. In the end, it was the charm and the friendliness of the people who live here, that helped us make our decision to lay roots.

Another opportunity to see top-notch performances without having the burden of traveling to theRead More city, parking etc. Bravo!

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?
