A Musical Trip to Ireland in Port Washington
World-renowned Victor Cunneen helped kick off a week of St. Patrick's Day festivities at Sullivan's Quay.
Sullivan's Quay kicked off its St. Patrick's week celebration with a familiar face — world-renowned guitarist Victor Cunneen who performs at the Irish owned and operated bar and restaurant numerous times throughout the year.
Cunneen performed Irish-themed music last Thursday and Friday evening in front of a packed house which included dinner guests and bar patrons. His Irish folk music filled the air with fantastic tunes that took many audience members on a musical trip to Ireland. Cunneen has been playing his guitar for 35 years across Europe and the United States and has been a regular performer at Sullivan's Quay for the past 10 years.
His music helped to get the week of celebration, leading up to St. Patrick's Day 2010, off to a resounding start. Sullivan's Quay will feature Billy Coleman and Pat Floody playing Irish songs on the guitar and accordion on St. Patrick's Day from 12-3 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. along with Irish Step Dancing at 2 p.m. There will be lunch and dinner specials served on St. Patrick's Day as well, including Dublin Wings, Corned Beef 'n' Cabbage, and Lamb and Guinness Stew. Sullivan's Quay will also be serving special drinks like green beer and Grasshopper (crème de menthe and brandy).
