Blood Drive; Candidate Forum

Blood Drive: The Port Washington Crisis Relief Team and the American Red Cross are sponsoring a blood drive at the Port Washington Library from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. More information here.

Drum Circle: Looking to let off some steam, connect more deeply to your inner pulse, or just bring some rhythm into your life? The Living Room's Community Drum Circle is for all levels of folk who wish to experience working through the heartbeat, pulse and healing power of drumming. No experience is required. Event begins at 8 p.m. on Thursday at The Living Room Studio, 12 Irma Ave. in Port Washington. More information here.

Comptroller Candidate Forum: Nassau County comptroller candidates George Maragos and Howard Weitzman are scheduled to appear at a League of Women Voters-sponsored forum Oct. 10 at Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave. The event begins at 7 p.m. More information here.

Nearby: Dr. Keith Niesenbaum, owner of Great Neck Dog and Cat Hospital will be giving a free talk on the current state of Pet Health Insurance in our area.  Learn if pet insurance is appropriate for your pet, what to look for in a policy, what you should expect from a pet health insurance company, and common pitfalls that people experience when considering health insurance for their pets.  Representatives from several companies will be on hand to explain their offerings.  Light refreshments will be served.  Space is limited so must RSVP via e mail to knvet57@gmail.com.
