Cancer Support Services:

 

If you are someone you love is in need of support after a breast or gynecological cancer diagnoses please contact us to find out about our comprehensive services offered at the Women’s Therapy Center in Plainview, NY.  Our services are for women diagnosed with breast, uterine, vaginal, vulvar, endometrial, colon, and rectal cancer. You may be newly diagnosed, in active treatment, or living life after cancer.

 

Individual and group counseling is facilitated by Jennifer Kolton, LCSW and Cancer Specialist. Jennifer is one of the only therapists on Long Island who focuses solely on women diagnosed with cancer. Her experience includes working seven years at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City as a Breast Oncology Social Worker in The Mount Sinai Breast Health Resource Program and Dubin Breast Center. Jennifer is currently the Oncology Social Worker at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, NY.


The Women’s Therapy Center also specializes in counseling for women who are BRCA+ (with or without cancer diagnosis) and women diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy. We are also equipped to do individual counseling via SKYPE so please inquire if you are unable to travel.

 

SUPPORT GROUPS: At this time we are offering two FREE support groups for women with breast cancer. Groups are facilitated by Jennifer and meet on alternate Wednesday evenings of each week. We have a general group for all women and a group specifically for women in their 40’s and under. You may be newly diagnosed, in active treatment, or up to three years post treatment. Please call us to inquire about more information about these groups.

 

Please see our website for information about Insurance and questions you may have regarding rates. We do take Medicare. All support groups are FREE of charge.
