Turf the Diamond at LaMotta's on Friday, May 2nd

The Port Washington Vikings Baseball Booster Club will host “Turf The Diamond” on Friday, May 2 at 8pm at LaMotta’s Waterside Restaurant. The $50 per person ticket will include entrance into the event and a buffet dinner.

The Turf the Diamond event will celebrate Port baseball and introduce the community-wide effort to turf the Vikings baseball diamond at Guggenheim School. Sadly, the current field conditions are sub-par, water does not drain properly (or at all) and the ground is uneven, resulting in unsafe play and canceled games. Our Port athletes deserve better! Manhasset, Roslyn and other neighboring towns have invested in low maintenance, safe, and state of the art turf fields. Sponsorship opportunities will be offered for businesses and individuals, including fence banners visible all season. Special guest, Kevin Mahoney, General Manager of the Brooklyn Cyclones, a 1990 graduate of Schreiber and a PW Vikings Varsity Baseball Alumni will be joining us.

LaMotta’s Waterside Restaurant is located at 10 Matinecock Avenue in Port Washington.
