The 2011 annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Eve service, a Port tradition since 1940 sponsored by the Port Clergy Association, is hosted by the rabbi, cantor and congregants of Temple Beth Israel. Many of Port's religious leaders will share the service's leadership under the direction of Rabbi Michael Mishkin and Cantor Baruch Blum. The Thanksgiving message will be offered by the Reverend Ms. Brenda D. Ford, pastor of Mount Olive A.M.E. Church. A free-will offering shall be gathered for relief work in famine-stricken East Africa and for The Community Chest of Port Washington, sponsors of Port's Thanksgiving Day Race. The community is invited to attend. Refreshments will follow the service.
