The Community Synagogue’s new senior group, Chaverim, has scheduled a visit to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County on Tuesday, May 10.
Chaverim (senior members of the temple and the community) will meet at the Holocaust Center, 100 Crescent Beach Road, Glen Cove at 12 noon. There will be a docent-led tour of the recently renovated state of the art museum, followed by a kosher-style buffet lunch and a lecture. Dr. Sarah Cushman will speak on “Women of Birkenau: Women’s Camp of Auschwitz.”

Directions: Glen Cove Road north to where it meets Rte. 107N. Follow 107 to end; turn right onto Brewster St. (at firehouse). Turn left onto Dosoris Lane (4th traffic light). Go about I mile and turn left onto New Woods Rd. Go to end and make right onto Crescent Beach Rd. Make right into Welwyn Preserve (sign for Holocaust Center),
