Expect Road Closings During Turkey Trot

Police say traffic will could be affected between 8-10:30 a.m.

Thursday's Thanksgiving Day Run means morning road closures in Port Washington.

Thousands are expected for the annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot which takes place between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Roads will begin to close starting at 8 a.m. with some roads re-opening as early as 9:30 a.m., if possible.

All residents north of Manorhaven Boulevard and Cow Neck Road will be unable to travel south during the road closures.

Also, the King Kullen shopping center will only be accessible for Soundview residents during this period, according to police.

The race begins on on Manorhaven Boulevard, continues onto Cow Neck Road
heading south onto Middle Neck Road and Port Washington Boulevard before cutting across via Sandy Hollow Road and Harbor Road then back north onto Shore Road and finally back onto Manorhaven Boulevard.
