A weekend planner.

The first ever Port Washington event kicks off Friday at 5 p.m. That's where local artists and select venues will showcase artists' work, and their process, all weekend long. See the lineup

As part of the artists' celebration, Friday's  features Caroline Sonett on flute and Solomon Hoffman on piano and accordion performing classical, jazz, soundtrack and European folk music. They will premiere two works inspired by the paintings of local artists.

On Saturday, from 2-4 p.m., there's an  at the library, and from 5-7 p.m., one at Graphic Eye Gallery, as part of the Open Studio event.  

On Saturday at 9 a.m,  will continue with its master classes series September for teens and adults who are intermediate-advanced dancers. . 

On Sunday at 3 p.m., the library presents a film of the opera "Carmen." It's a slightly abridged, two-hour version with a 10 minute intermission, Capitol Heights Lyric Opera performs all major scenes, sung in French with brief English dialogues.
