Annual Unleashed Halloween Pet Parade

Everyone loves a parade and the uber parade of them all will take place in Port Washington on Sunday, Oct. 30th, at noon in the Blumenfeld Family Park on Main Street, adjacent to the Landmark building, where Unleashed Pet Boutique will host its annual community-wide Halloween Pet Parade.

Pure breeds, hybrids, and Heinz 57s - dogs of all shapes, sizes and colors - are invited to don a costume and prance with their neighbors and friends. There will be prizes, raffles, fun, and plenty of sniffing and barking too.

Unleashed Pet Boutique, located at 160 Main Street in Port Washington, is locally owned and operated by Port residents Laura Palattella and Elaine Abramson.  For six years they have been providing Long Island with a full line of holistic, organic foods and treats as well as impeccable professional grooming.  Walk into the shop and you will see dog toys, collars and leashes, beds, food bowls and mats, sweaters and coats and of course, hound Halloween costumes - anything and everything one might need or want to indulge one's pet.

Laura and Elaine are also valuable resources for information and advice.  Both are dog owners. Laura owns an Irish Wolfhound and a miniature Poodle.  Elaine owns two Shiatsus and two miniature Poodles. They know their business and are happy to assist with your dog's needs.

So don't sit on the couch like an old fat cat.  Make a costume, buy a costume, let your dog's inner self out of its crate and strut your mutt at the Unleashed Pet Parade on October 30th.  Mingle with your community's canines, kids, and adults at an event not to be missed.  After all, you know your dog will be the cutest.

All donations will benefit the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter.
