Author Lenore Skenazy to speak at Landmark on Main Street

Lenore Skenazy, author of the book and blog Free Range, Kids, How to Raise Safe, Self-Reliant Children Without Going Nuts, will speak in the Conversations From Main Street series at Landmark on Main Street’s Jeanne Rimsky Theater.

Skenazy presents her views of parenting with such incredible wit and often hilarious insights that she will have you laughing in the aisles while at the same time absorbing practical parenting tips. An op-ed columnist at The New York Sun and Advertising Age, Skenazy sees herself as a normal, curious, often amused but just as often fed-up, middle-aged mom out to get the facts. Because of her views on parenting, she is sometimes billed as “The World’s Worst Mom.” She will be featured in an upcoming reality TV show, where she will counsel families on “loosening the reins” and relaxing a bit as they raise their children.

Skenazy will be interviewed by Port’s own Dana Friedman, founder and president of the Early Years Institute. This program is free thanks to a generous contribution from the Angela and Scott Jaggar Foundation and is co-sponsored by Port Washington Child Care Partnership, Port Washington Public Library, Child Care Council of Nassau and the Early Years Institute.
