On Friday, May 18, 2012, British Rock musician, John Ford of the Strawbs will perform the inaugural concert for The Great Neck Arts Center’s Gold Coast Acoustic Café -- being organized and produced by The Great Neck Arts Center and Eugenie and Brian Viner of Love Revolution Org. The new monthly music program is primarily geared to give the 15 and up age group, a place to play music outside of school, plus additional opportunities for other Local musicians in a professional venue setting.

Veteran British Rock Musician, John Ford of the Strawbs has shared the stage worldwide, and/or recorded with Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Santana, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Dave Mason, Richard Thompson, Eagles, Blue Oyster Cult, Frank Zappa, Ian Lloyd (STORIES), ZZ Top, RUSH, Lynyrd Skynyrd, T-Rex -- to name just a few of the musicians and bands.
Ford will be featuring Gold and Platinum hits: “Part of the Union” (#2 Hit spent 52 weeks on Charts), “Heavy Disguise,” “Nice Legs Shame About The Face,” and others he penned whilst with UK bands: Strawbs (with Rick Wakeman from YES), Hudson Ford and The Monks, as well his own Solo repertoire, covering popular tunes from his own favourite bands. John will be performing with his son, John Ford, Jr. on Guitar/Vocals and Richie Alan on Drums/Percussion, and Special Guest: John Cardone on bass -- for an exciting Electro-Acoustic set.
