The Town of North Hempstead purchased the 2 acre tract of land in 1992, which is now Blumenfeld Family Park, at a cost of one million dollars. Since then the Town and RESIDENTS have secured funds to improve the park which officially opened in June 1997. Gerard Olsen, Town Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, and RESIDETNS have worked together to insure that the Blumenfeld Family Park will remain the gem of the town’s recreational facility.
