New Sign of the Times

Local business owners' new sign company employ's Port Washington residents; goes against the grain of a slow economy.

   Port Washington Residents JB and Abby Meyer are entrepreneurs, creating jobs at a time when many people are loosing theirs. Despite bad economic conditions, this husband and wife business team has created two successful businesses in Port Washington in the last year, proving that it is possible to found and run a successful small business in a down economy.    After years of working in corporate jobs in New York City, the Meyers' founded Long Island Boat Rentals and Chief Signs. They say it's great to be creating jobs for local residents while helping to improve the look of local businesses with their sign products.

  Unlimited Sports owner Frank Farino agrees, saying he's happy with the new banners they've created for the outside of his business. "It enhances the building. The Colors are Nice. It makes the whole area nice," says Farino.
