Burt Young Art Exhibit at The Dolphin Cafe

On Thursday January 10th at 6 pm, The Dolphin Bookshop and Cafe will be hosting a reception for Academy Award actor and artist Burt Young. Young’s artwork is currently on display and for sale in The Dolphin Cafe will be enjoyed through the month of January.  

The exhibit is just a sampling of Young’s incredible talent.  Young’s Studio, located directly above The Dolphin Cafe, houses vibrant and colorful works presenting a variety of subject including still life, people and action scenes such as two boxers sparring in the ring. Young’s art has been shown in many galleries and museum across the country, Montreal and Italy.  Local exhibits include the Nassau County Museum of Art and The Port Washington Library.  Young also has a web gallery of his work at www.burtyoungartandfilm.com

A Queens native, Young moved to Port Washington over twenty  years ago.  Burt started acting at 27, but by age eleven he won an easel and paints in a New York City Parks Department contest and his striking, edgy work has been purchased by collectors such as Jackie Kennedy, Sly Stallone, James Caan, Gilda Radner, Jon Voight, Robert DeNiro and Cindy Adams.
