Port Washington Play Troupe invites the community to "Step Into an Actor's Shoes" led by seasoned actor/director and theater educator Kate Beckman.
Have you ever been curious about how an actor prepares, creates, and performs a role? Come behind the scenes with Beckman for an intimate look at the actor’s craft. Discover the skills that an actor develops: how to analyze a script for insights, create a character, and then bring the role to life. There will be opportunities for audience participation.
As always, the evening will conclude with coffee, conversation and sumptuous desserts provided by Blanka's Kitchen, a Port-Washington based catering company.
“SPOTLIGHT ON THEATER” is a monthly discussion series on the making of theater, with special guests, casual conversations and desserts provided by local caterer Blanka's Kitchen. Founded in 1927, Play Troupe is New York State's oldest chartered amateur theater company.
