Can the Blogs, Postings and Comments Make a Difference?

What part do the positings, blogs and comments play in correcting problems residents are concerned with?

Many of those who blog, or post comments have brought up issues that have to do with the quality of life in Port Washington. Some were just comments and others were really complaints. This is not about admonishing anyone or the type of comments they leave, but rather to ask a very simple question. Do the blogs, comments and assorted postings get read by those who could take action? From what I was told by one Port Washington Police officer is that the police do look at the site, proving this was comments or replies from an officer.

When there were comments about store fronts and the need for better upkeep I started to notice that some business owners were in fact showing a concern for the better. The Clearview theater was repainted and the store once occupied by a furier is seeing some renovations for a possible tennant. Baltimore Interior had the entire store front renovated to give it a clean new look. I have also watched several business owners washing the side walk in front of their establishment. Maybe the blogs about making a better appearance to draw more business touched a note with business owners?

Maybe we should keep commenting and blogging and offering possible solutions about those issues which effect the community. You just never know who is reading what and how the posting impacts the reader.
