Thank you for your intelligent posting on the heroin epidemic facing our community. I fully support you in these efforts. I do hope, however, that you distinguish this issue with the pending legislation for the legalization of medical marijuana (Compassionate Care Act). As a parent of an adult son, living in your District, who has intractable seizures, I am anxiously awaiting for NY to join the 21 other states which have passed similar legislation. The scientific and anecdotal data on the success of CBD (the non euphoric element of cannabis) in controlling seizures is well established. It is inexcusable that our New York loved ones are suffering and dying when there is proven and accepted relief available in other states. I urge you to support the Compassionate Care Act.
