Crime Report: Shoplifting, DWI Among Arrests

Incidents and arrests in the Port Washington Police District over the past week.

The following information is taken directly from the Port Washington Police District's Felony Report. None of the defendants have been convicted of a crime, but were arrested for the charges listed below. All complaints listed are only alleged crimes under local investigation.

Arrests:

  • On June 15, a Port Washington man was placed under arrest for violating an order of protection on June 9 at 1 Spitler Place.
  • A Manhasset man was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Stop & Shop Supermarket, located at 65 Shore Road, on June 18.
  • A Woodhaven man was arrested and charged with DWI and multiple VTL violations on Beacon Hill Road on June 19.

  • A complainant reported a burglary at 36 Avenue A on June 18. A local investigation of this incident is currently underway.
  • A complainant reported that the rear window of his car was shattered and the front window was cracked by an unknown person or persons at 382 Channel Drive on June 18. A local investigation of this criminal mischief is currently underway.
  • A complainant reported the theft of a white statue of the Virgin Mary from Nassau Knolls Cemetery & Memorial Park, located at 500 Port Washington Boulevard, on June 19. A local investigation of this incident is currently underway.
