Hinck's Delicatessen Still Under Construction
The popular Port Washington spot is not yet ready to re-open.
The popular , which is closed due to a , is expected to remain closed for longer than originally anticipated.
Though the owners were hoping to be back in business by Friday, the building is still undergoing construction.
According to Jack Passauer, a Hinck’s Delicatessen worker who is supervising the construction project, most of the damage was caused by the smoke from the fire rather than the fire itself. Workers anticipate finishing up construction on the ceiling within the next day or two, and then focus on the flooring.

It is expected that construction will be completed in time to re-open between Aug. 2-4, after inspections and approvals. Supporters can check the store's facebook page for updates.
