Overnight Fire Sends Two to Hospital

Duo treated at Nassau University Medical Center after electrical heater went ablaze.

The Port Washington Fire Department responded to a fire at 141 Main Street apparently caused by an electrical heater at close to 3 a.m. Once at the scene, firefighters aided and transported two burn victims, a 33-year-old male and 29-year-old female, to Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow for treatment. The man was treated for second-degree burns to his fingers and right foot while the female had first-degree burns to her leg and both hands cared for.
