Cops: Great Neck Man Suspected of Kidnapping Arrested

A woman recognized the suspect from a police sketch, detectives say.

Kings Point Police on Thursday arrested a Great Neck man suspected of  before releasing her unharmed in Kings Point on Nov. 21.

Police arrested Sirus Kashimallak, 50, of 10 Cherry Lane in Great Neck, on Thursday.

Nassau County detectives say that on Thursday Kashimallak pulled up to another woman standing at the bus stop in front of the United States Merchant Marine Academy at 300 Steamboat Road in Kings Point. He tried to engage her in conversation, but the woman, who knew of the first abduction that had occurred just two weeks earlier, recognized him from a police sketch, police say. The woman refused to speak to him, and called police, according to detectives.

Kings Point Police officers located and stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Middle Neck Road and Beach Road in Great Neck, and arrested Kashimallak. He was positively identified by the woman from the Dec. 1 incident, police say.

Kashimallak was charged with second degree kidnapping and first degree sexual abuse. He was arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
