Kaiman Speaks on His Possible County Executive Run

North Hempstead supervisor remarks on election plans after Suozzi announcement Wednesday.

With the race heating up, Town of North Hempstead Supervisor Jon Kaiman neither confirmed or denied on Thursday that he might run for county executive in Nassau.

In his first remarks to Patch since former Democrat Tom Suozzi announced his intention to reclaim his old job, Kaiman said he is keeping his options open.

"This is an evolving process and we will see what happens over the next few days," said Kaiman, in a written statement.

Suozzi, who served as Nassau County Executive from 2002-2010, publicly announced Wednesday that he will once again run for Nassau’s top post. Suozzi ran for a third term in 2009 but lost a close election to current Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano. The former mayor of Glen Cove also ran for New York Governor in 2006 but lost a Democratic primary to Eliot Spitzer.

Adam Haber, a Roslyn school board member, has also announced a county executive run as a Democrat.

The campaigning has begun. Look at the smiling picture of the Supervisor - what happened to the one with him wagging his finger at us during a Town board meeting when we were trying to ask some questions? I wonder if he will still be smiling after the county finishes the audit on the books of Clinton G. Martin Park?

This is the same smile he has when he looks you in the eye and lies directly to you.

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?

Contact the Village and the water district, it's probably a problem with a pipe on your street.
