South Salem Elementary Students Get Surprise Visitor

Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth reads to students at Port Washington school.

Students at South Salem Elementary School in Port Washington received a visit from North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth this week.

Just days after officially being sworn in as supervisor, the former educator read the book "The Cricket in Times Square" to a group of students as part of the school's Community Readers Program.

According to a town press release, Bosworth discussed the importance of reading and writing and how it is so important in everyday life.

"I use reading and writing every day to do my job as North Hempstead Town Supervisor," Bosworth said to students in Ms. Silverstein's 3rd grade class and Ms. Taranto's 2nd grade class. "This wonderful reading program will help develop your reading skills so you can be one of the leaders of our next generation."
