Video: Kaiman Explains Path for Roslyn Country Club

North Hempstead Supervisor discusses the purpose of the hearing Tuesday night and status of negotiations.

While some taxpayers are questioning how much the acquisition of the Roslyn Country Club will cost, Supervisor Jon Kaiman explained at Tuesday's board meeting that final numbers are not yet known, as negotiations continue. While the country club building is in disrepair, the town has said that closing the facility would mean a loss of tax dollars to the Roslyn School District.

How vague can you get! What Kaiman said was a big bunch of nothing.

Alexandra Zendrian: You should have showed how rude he was to the people against this project. It is clear that there was a one way show going on during this meeting. thank you for being there

"Only guesses" on costs and deal structure then, and nine months later, only guesses (if that, more likely plugged numbers designed to make it appear a breakeven proposition) on costs, membership levels and fee structures now. That's all they are, guesses. P&L guesses on existing facilities have been universally off base, the wrong way, so what makes these more likely "better guesses"? Has the Town learned anything? Apparently not.
