Projections released Friday say Port Washington's School District's aid will increase 1.25 percent.

Port Washington will likely see almost $6 million in state aid for the 2012-13 school year, an increase of almost $73,000 from this year, according to the New York State Education Department.

NYSED estimated Friday that Port Washington had $5,975,943 in state aid coming their way next year. Port Washington's aid will increase by about 1.25 percent compared to last year's numbers.

"The numbers released today are the state aid 'runs,'" NYSED's Jonathan Burman said Friday. "[They are] the amount of money the legislature and Governor have agreed…to send to the individual school districts."
