Port Washington Schools Closed Wednesday

Due to severe weather conditions, all Port Washington public schools will be closed Wednesday, according to the school district website.

Schools let out early Tuesday in anticipation heavy snowfall which began Wednesday.

Up to 8 inches of snow is expected Tuesday night with widespread blowing snow before 3 a.m, according to the National Weather Service. Widespread blowing snow is expected through the early morning hours with a low around 9 degrees and wind chill of about -10. 

On Wednesday, the snow should give way to partly cloudy skies. A high near 17 is expected with a wind chill value as low as −8, according to the NWS.

NYC Schools are open !!!! No reason schools here could not open as well ... Another paid holiday for Port's smartest
