Science Olympiad team took first place in the 2012 Nassau County Regional Science Olympiad Competition on March 3. The school also hosted 44 middle schools for the competition.
Next up for Weber's Olympiads: the New York State Competition in Stone Ridge in April. According to Weber's Home School Association, the school has taken first place in nine out of the last 11 years and has qualified for the state competition 14 years straight.
It has also qualified for the National Competition in 2002, 2004 and 2007. Weber is the only middle school in Nassau County to ever qualify for the Nationals, the HSA reports.
