Gymnastic Show at Manorhaven Elementary

It's a tradition that's 30 years strong.

The Fred Yarosh Gymnastics Show is a tradition that's 30 years strong. The event drew family, parents and friends to the Manorhaven gym Wednesday morning.

Fifth grade students produced and performed in a the show, named for retired Manorhaven Physical Education Teacher, Fred Yarosh. 

The show took weeks of preparation. Every fifth grade student participated.  There was a welcome dance and routines on the floor, vault, rings, uneven bars and parallel bars. In addition, many students worked stage crew.

This year’s theme was “Manorhaven At the Hop,” featuring music from the 1950s.

"The gymnastics show showcases the athleticism, coordination, and agility of the fifth grade students," noted Principal Bonni Cohen. "Very often in our audience we have parents and siblings who have also performed in this show as a Manorhaven student. This is a wonderful tradition."

The Manorhaven Elementary 2012 Fred Yarosh Gymnastics Show was spearheaded by current Physical Education teacher, Mrs. Megaera Regan. Many other teachers and paraprofessionals pitched in with t-shirt design, choreography, filmography, programs, picture-taking and more.
