Get Ready for The 2011 'Turkey Trot' in Port Washington

Registration is now open.

Registration for the 2011 Thanksgiving Day Run – what Port residents call the "Turkey Trot" – has officially begun.

More than 2,200 athletes are expected to run, jog or walk a five-mile course through the Port Washington peninsula.  

Now in its 36th year, the race is the biggest annual fundraiser for the , which supports local charities. All proceeds from race fees, sponsorships and contributions are fully tax deductible.

The race is officially sanctioned by USA Track & Field, the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States.

The price of advance registrations (received by Nov. 21) is $35 for adults and $25 for youngsters 18 years old and under.  “Run Day” registrations for adults will increase to $50, although the youth rate will remain $25.  Registrants using the online service Active.com will pay an additional convenience charge. Register by Nov. 14 to ensure to receive a commemorative tee-shirt in the size desired.
