Manhasset Resident Joins Thousands in the Fight Against Pancreatic Cancer

Marion Kahn Will Walk to Find a Cure on October 13 at Jones Beach

Manhasset resident Marion Kahn will join thousands of tri-state area residents in support of her battle with pancreatic cancer by participating in The Lustgarten Foundation’s 13th annual Long Island Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk. The walk will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13, at Jones Beach.

After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last December, Marion was determined to find a way to get involved so she could help change the disease’s grim statistics. She liked what she heard about The Lustgarten Foundation and when she learned about the Foundation’s Long Island walk through a curePC public service announcement that was inserted in her cable bill, she seized the opportunity to immediately participate. curePC is a public awareness campaign created by The Lustgarten Foundation and Cablevision to draw attention to the urgent need to find a cure for this deadly disease. Marion registered for the walk and dedicates her time to rallying family and friends to donate and join team “Marion.” She is motivated to walk for The Lustgarten Foundation and to win the fight against this disease.

Marion believes that participating in the walk will be a moving and inspirational way to celebrate her survival. And, for Marion, it is also fulfilling to know that 100 percent of all money she raises goes directly to pancreatic cancer research.

“Marion’s dedication to this cause and her current success in fighting this disease provides tremendous hope for the more than 7,000 walkers who will join her and support her in this battle,” said Kerri Kaplan, executive director of The Lustgarten Foundation.

The Lustgarten Foundation’s Long Island Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk at Jones Beach will begin at 9:30 a.m. with registration starting at 8 a.m. For more information about the walk or to register, please visit www.curePC.org.
