Collection boxes to be set up at several Port Washington locations.

With winter closing in, donations of cold weather items will be accepted at several Port Washington locations beginning Wednesday.

Winter jackets, hats, scarves, boots, gloves and blankets are needed to distribute to the needy, according to the Parents Resource Council, a co-sponsor of the annual clothing drive along with the Port Washington School District.

Donations that are clean and in good condition may may be brought to Port Washington elementary schools beginning Oct. 30.

Additionally, collection boxes will be set up in the lobbies of the Weber Middle School and Schreiber High School as well.

Donations will be accepted at the Manorhaven Pool lobby Nov. 4-8 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Clothing will be distributed from the Manorhaven Pool on the following dates:

  • Thursday, Nov. 7 from 4-8 p.m.
  • Friday, Nov. 8 from 1-4 p.m.
  • Saturday, Nov. 9 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
