Swing Concert; Summer Events

Funday Mondays for Seniors: Mardi Gras-themed event planned at North Hempstead Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday. Seniors bring may bring lunch and purchase beverages and snacks at cost. There is free bus transportation throughout the Town and parking for seniors is free on Mondays. Swing Concert: The New Vintage Swing Band will perform Monday at Mary Jane Davies Park, 201 Plandome Rd. in Manhasset. The 13-piece orchestra will feature music of the 40’s and some current dance hits beginning at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Meeting: Monthly meeting begins Monday at 8 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1819, 29 Mohegan Ave., Port Washington. Veterans are encouraged to bring separation documents showing overseas war service record to sign up.

Port COC Meeting: The board of directors of the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will meet Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 8 a.m. at Ayhan’s Fish Kebab, 286 Main St.  All are welcome.

Gay Pearsall Memorial Concert: Presented by the The Long Island Banjo Society, the free concert begins at 8:15 p.m. st Sunset Park in Port Washington on Wednesday.

Farmer’s Market – Don't forget about the annual farmer's market every Saturday through Oct. 8 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Town Dock.

Free Movies in the Park: The PG rated film, Escape from Planet Earth, will run at 8 p.m. at North Hempstead Beach Park on Aug. 18. Admission is free. Guests are advised to bring chairs, parking fees apply. The park is located at 175 West Shore Rd. in Port Washington.
