Rebecca Scheckman, Neighbor
- Port Washington, NY
Born and raised in Port Washington, I left for several years for school at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and Tufts University in Boston, Mass. After graduation I travelled for the first time by myself to India. A year later, I travelled to Guyana to support a cultural project in its initial creation. I recently returned to Port Washington, where I am now working with a local artist on a video, documenting his process and images.
In the past I have curated and participated in art shows using a variety of mediums. Communication, networking and intimacy mediated through technology have been my main themes with in my art. Working with mediums such as interactive video, performance and drawing.
I have experience with teaching art to children. My favorite projects that I have taught have been Inflatable Structures, Murals and The Human Chess Board.
