Election Heats Up on Manorhaven Blvd.

It's , and advocates of both incumbent Manorhaven Mayor  and his opponent, community leader , are spending most of Tuesday along Manorhaven Blvd., campaigning for their candidates.

Talk to either party, and it's fair to say this election is a heated one.

"Everyones starting to get excited, on both sides," DiLeo said, who mid-afternoon said he expected turnout to pickup at about 4:30 p.m., as voters returned from work.

Still, he said, "I feel good." 

Pointing to sent about her, Giunta said, "I wish they spent more time on the issues than attacking me."

had been called about people harassing others to vote within the Port Police jurisdiction, but that claim was unfounded, police said. also received a call about electeering violation, and those campaigners were told to stand 100 feet back from the polling location, a police spokeswoman said. 

A car sporting a Giunta sign rolled past campaigners holding DiLeo signs. The driver wagged his finger at the sign holder, who in turn shouted back something, though it was hard to make out the words. 

"It's colorful," said a source familiar with previous elections. "It's Manorhaven."
