BOE Meeting; Hiroshima Anniversary Peace Presentation Tuesday

Some happenings in and around Port Washington today.

School Board Meeting: The Port Washington Board of Education meets Tuesday at Schreiber High School. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the library. Agenda

At The Landmark: Bring your little ones and a picnic blanket to the West Lawn at Landmark on Main Street Tuesday at 6 p.m. to hear some great music from Paul Helou and dance the sun down. Admission: Members $5/ non-members $7 (under 1 year old free). All proceeds benefit The Parent Resource Center.

Hiroshima Anniversary Peace Presentation: On the 68th commemoration of the bombing of Hiroshima, the public is invited to a presentation Tuesday by Great Neck SANE/Peace Action, The Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation at Shelter Rock and the Long Island Alliance for Peaceful Alternatives calling for peace, a nuclear free world, a safe environment, decent jobs an end to killer drones and smaller military budgets. Guests speakers include: Amy Goodman, author of  “The Silenced Majority”and host of “Democracy Now” and Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, among others. The event bigins at 7 p.m. at  UUCSR, 48 Shelter Rock Rd. More info
