Last Chance: Meet Candidates in Library Trustee Race Wednesday

3 candidates for 2 trustee spots this year square off in League of Women Voters debate.

The race for Port Washington Public Library trustee is getting heated.

Three candidates are running for two library trustee seats this year. Thomas Donoghue, currently a library trustee, is running, as are Michael Krevor, and Susan J. Miller. Joe Burden, a long-time trustee, is not seeking re-election.

Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., you'll have the chance to hear why the candidates say they are the best choice for trustee, thanks to a League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset debate at the library in the Lapham Room.

"We are always proud to run a candidate's forum for our wonderful library," said Jane Thomas, president of the league.

The evening will also feature budget information, according to the library.

The library budget and trustee vote is Tuesday, April 9.

Details about the candidates’ qualifications and why they want to run for the board can be found on page 2 of the library’s April 30 newspaper, which was mailed to all Port residents, and which is also accessible online.

The library trustee race in Manhasset is uncontested this year.
